About the Experience
This walk was designed by a public historian with academic training in European Culture and Public History. It focuses on how cities shaped by multiple empires remember, negotiate, and reinterpret their past.
Rather than presenting history as a fixed sequence of events, the experience brings together places, people, and everyday stories from the 16th to the 20th century. Participants are encouraged to observe, discuss, and actively engage with the urban landscape, allowing Chania’s multicultural character to emerge through the streets themselves.
The walk combines historical research with clear storytelling, transforming monuments and neighborhoods into living points of connection between past and present.
